I’ve been toying around with the idea of wine n’ web for some time now and thanks to my good friend Ciara Lydon (you really should check out her site) I’m finally making it happen.
My goal is to create some sort of support group and learning team if you will, for you all, whoever’s interested, where I teach you about the wonderful world of the interweb. From branding and social marketing, to email marketing, search engine optimization and more, I want to make clear how best to tackle your marketing strategy if you’re just starting out or if you need a refresher.
Modern technology changes literally every day and you never know what you can and should be doing to push yourself ahead of your competition. So many fads and trends dominate the market and lets be honest, 99% of them won’t be around in 6 months to a year. That being said, I’ll tell you which to focus on, which you can best implement, which ones are crap and so on…you get the jist.
Social Marketing is though not a fad- so lets establish that at the start. While I’m not Facebook saying will lead the world in 50 years…though it’s certainly doing a good job as of late…I am saying that technology has allowed us to connect with brands in a different, more effective way. Certainly I would rather get my hair done at a place recommended by my best friends rather than googling ‘hair san diego’ and trusting my locks the first shmoe in organic search. Better yet, dentists, restaurants, you name it – there’s no arguing with the power of word of mouth marketing and now that it’s accessible online…imagine the possibilities. Further, with technologies like video and ge0-location- you can inspire consumers to interact with your brand when they actually see it, rather than taking a mental note to hopefully look into you later.
This all of course glazes the surface but more will come in time…aka tomorrow evening at 8pm at Cafe 976 in Pacific Beach.
Opportunities for cross over, future business relationships and friendships will surely ensue so all will be well in the web …with the wine.
This kick off class is on me, no charge, so come on down and check it out. Shoot me an email or comment on this post if you have any questions- I’d be happy to answer. Finally if you’re interested in group sessions or even private classes…I got you covered – and I’m happy to negotiate price for new comers so don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks everyone and I’m looking forward to tomorrow!
